| How to Help
The essence of successful research is to attract highly talented people and to provide an exciting and supportive environment in which they can achieve meaningful scientific objectives. Underwriting the costs of these researchers and their project support is our goal.
Your financial support will directly assist leading research in this area and in particular the appointment of scientists and the purchase of specialist equipment to assist in our scientific research.
Ways you can help:
As an Individual
As a Corporation
As an Individual:
- Any amount of donation can help us, no matter what size and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
- You can provide a donation to the INMR on-line by simply clicking through to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead on-line giving secure website.
After completing your personal details, you can request that your donation be directed to making the lives of children with neuromuscular disorders better by selecting Neuromuscular under the field entitled ‘Direct my donation to’.
- If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
As a Corporation:
In part, grants from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and other bodies, won on a competitive basis, provide an important source of funding. In this regard the Institute has been successful and currently holds four NHMRC grants for ongoing projects. However, the costs of our research cannot be met from these sources alone. Regrettably, research efforts and their timeliness are a function of our resources.
Opportunities exist for:
- Sponsorship of a research project package including costs associated with salaries for postdoctoral scientists and research assistants and laboratory consumables ($130,000 per annum)
- Establishment of graduate (PhD) research scholarships for exceptional candidates ($20, 000 per annum)
- Purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for genetic research
- Financial support of salaries for our professional research personnel ($34,000 to $50,000)
- You can also provide a donation to the INMR on-line by simply clicking through to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead on-line giving secure website.
After completing your personal details, you can request that your donation be directed to making the lives of children with neuromuscular disorders better by selecting Neuromuscular under the field ‘Direct my donation to’.
